The Australian, 13.10.16:
Treasurer takes aim
Chris Bowen asks Scott Morrison if he agrees with CEDA chairman Paul McClintock that the only way to balance the budget quickly is through revenue measures. He also wants to know why the government won’t embrace negative gearing reform.
“This government does not believe increasing taxes on the Australian economy is the way to grow jobs and to grow the economy. We don’t think that’s the answer,” the Treasurer says.
Mr Morrison has also attacked Labor for not backing tax cuts for business with an annual turnover of between $2 million and $10m, accusing the opposition of being “anti-small business”.
