The industrial umpire is under pressure to accept the findings of a new report proposing the early elimination of baseless unfair dismissal cases against small business operators. The report comes as a dramatic decline emerged in the number of Australians employed by small enterprises.
The move to weed out unmeritorious claims and better assist mum-and-dad operators could save small entrepreneurs tens of thousands of dollars in some circumstances by avoiding the payment of “go-away money” to disgruntled former employees.
