Sensis index shows WA business cheers Mark McGowan

The West Australian, 30 November 2020
The general popularity of Premier Mark McGowan’s administration is reflected in the State’s small business sector, with a survey showing the State Government enjoyed better support here than its Federal counterparts.
The Sensis Business Index shows only 8 per cent of WA business felt the State Government’s policies work against them.
This compares with 17 per cent of WA businesses feeling the Federal Government’s policies were against them — the highest of any State. Sensis chief executive John Allan said small businesses were looking for leadership from government during the pandemic.
“Businesses were more critical of the Federal Government and in the main were more supportive of their State government,” Mr Allan said.
Sensis found 49 per cent of WA small businesses supported the State Government’s polices and 25 per cent said they had no impact.
